An important note on confidentiality and anonymity

I do not disclose the identity of a source or my communication with them without their express permission.

Sometimes a source does not want their name to appear in print in order to protect their job, their reputation or their family. That is absolutely fine, although usually I will need to confirm a source's identity to my own satisfaction in the course of an investigation. For instance if you want to reveal illegal working conditions at your place of employment I will need proof of who you are and that you work there. Any such documentation can be provided securely and kept confidential.

• If you wish to contact me securely, use this form to request a number on which you can text me using an encrypted messaging app like Signal.
• If you just provide a false email address I won't be able to contact you with follow-up questions and clarifications, which dramatically reduces the likelihood I'll be able to publish what you tell me.
